BioD and its partners join forces for an ecological restoration initiative in the rural community of Mancilla.

On August 2, BioD, together with our customers—leading companies in Colombia’s energy sector, including Chevron, Primax, Terpel, Zeuss, Petromil, Puma, and Biomax—came together for a meaningful tree-planting and ecological restoration initiative as part of the Mancilla Rural Community’s Socio-Ecological Corridor Project. The project is led by the Guayacanal Foundation in partnership with BioD. The event stood out not only for the active participation of industry leaders, but also for the positive environmental impact generated in the region, continuing a project focused on restoring local ecosystems.

During the initiative, 200 trees were planted in the upper area of the Mancilla micro-watershed, a zone of vital ecological importance. This collective effort seeks not only to restore the area, but also to contribute to water balance and the conservation of local biodiversity—essential elements for long-term sustainability.

The activity, conceived as a demonstration of environmental commitment, brought together a diverse group of BioD employees, customers, and strategic partners. Together, they planted trees and participated in ecological restoration activities that highlighted the importance of protecting and recovering vulnerable ecosystems.

The Guayacanal Foundation, recognized for its outstanding work in promoting the long-term restoration and protection of this ecosystem, played a key role in organizing the initiative. Thanks to its experience and dedication, the event not only achieved its immediate planting objectives, but also raised awareness among participants about the importance of ecological restoration and the need to protect our water sources. BioD also used the event to explore strategic partnerships capable of generating greater long-term impact, developing joint initiatives with local companies and customers that share the same commitment to maximizing the results the planet needs.

At a time when companies are becoming increasingly aware of their environmental responsibility, BioD and its customers have provided an inspiring example of how commitments can be transformed into action. The planting of 200 trees in the Mancilla micro-watershed clearly demonstrates the impact that can be achieved when the private sector joins forces with communities and organizations to protect our natural environment.

This event is a powerful reminder that, by working together, we can leave a lasting legacy for future generations. BioD and its partners demonstrate that, united, we can effectively contribute to building a greener and more balanced future, where development and nature coexist in harmony. May this be only the first of many joint initiatives with companies that promote a positive impact on our planet, continuing the work carried out by the Guayacanal Foundation and BioD for more than three years.
