We selected Alcohol-to-Jet (ATJ) technology for the production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF)
At BioD, a leading company in the biodiesel market and in the development of energy solutions for multiple sectors, we are pleased to announce the selection of Alcohol-to-Jet (ATJ) technology as the core process for producing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). This decision represents a key milestone in our strategy to decarbonize the aviation sector and reaffirms our commitment to innovation and sustainability in response to the planet’s environmental challenges.
We are currently beginning the feasibility stage, assessing the project’s technical, economic, and operational aspects. This process is essential to ensure successful and sustainable long-term implementation.
Our goal is ambitious: to have our SAF production plant operational by 2029. ATJ technology, which converts biomass-derived alcohols into renewable aviation fuels, provides us with a scalable and innovative solution to meet the growing demand for clean energy. SAF produced through this process will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 65% compared with conventional fossil-based aviation fuel, while also promoting a circular economy through the use of sustainable and eligible feedstocks.
